Chinese Cooking: A Work in Progress

It was homemade stir fry & chow mein night at our house last night. It certainly wasn’t authentic Chinese food, but each time I get a little closer. Thanks largely to the show Easy Chinese, San Francisco. I really need to get a wok!

My tip today: drop your sliced veggies for chow mein into boiling water for two minutes. Spoon out veggies & drain them well – keep the water boiling for your noodles. Then transfer to a hot pan with a drizzle of hot oil in it. Cook veggies for 3-4 more minutes in hot oil. Add cooked & drained chow mein noodles, then add soy sauce to your liking. Cook about 5 minutes.
