Years ago, when we worked in the SF Financial District, Amelia and I used to frequent a little shop across from the Embarcadero Center called Focaccia. They had the BEST sandwiches on homemade breads and an always-changing menu. The Marinated Mozzarella Sandwich was our favorite. Although I don’t see the same sandwich on their menu anymore, we’ve recreated for it ourselves to enjoy anytime.
Marinated Mozzarella Sandwich
Focaccia bread or sandwich roll (I’m using La Brea Baking Company Torta Roll)
2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
2-3 slices of buffalo mozzarella
2 tablespoons sundried tomato
3-4 fresh basil leaves
Drizzle balsamic glaze on bread, top with buffalo mozzarella, sundried tomato and basil leaves.
Enjoy cold or heat in a 350 degree oven for about 15 minutes.
