Happy April 75th! Or is it the 99th? How’s everyone doing? Holding it together? Having Zoom meetings while your dog barks at the mail carrier? My dog barks at the mail truck when it stops at every single house on our street. Every house. Every time. Six days a week.
I’ve never appreciated rotten deck boards before last week. It’s a gross wet rotten pain in the ass job, trying to remove 4-inch nails and stripped screws filled with paint. I was happy to leave the house and remove those boards last week. Now the residents of those buildings can walk their dogs over and over again (and they will) without falling through the decks. One day last week I almost hit 10,000 steps! But that work order is complete and we don’t need to talk about how many steps I’m clocking now.
Traffic was amazing. What would normally have been a total of 2+ hours of commute time became 1 hour.
My daughter threw us a backyard potluck party! It was a party of epic proportions with all 3 of us and the dog in attendance! She texted the invitation to my husband and he even took the night off. He hasn’t had a night or day off in weeks. It was really sweet, and we all had fun hanging in the backyard, grilling hot dogs, having snacks, listening to the station “90’s Pop” on Amazon music (it’s hilarious… plays The Macarena and Barbie Girl every time). We’re going to try to keep that up every Friday for now. I went to Raley’s to get supplies for the party and bought the only hot dog buns available. Apparently “jumbo” and “bun length” are NOT the same thing. I don’t know what kind of hot dog fits in this bun, but I’m certain it’s a hot dog I would NEVER eat.
Here are some fun pics and photos for you to enjoy!
Bob the beagle who got a feather stuck to his nose and walked around with a mustache for a good couple hours. And Tiny Dog the mutt of unknown origins swaddled like a baby.
Important Reminders: Wash your hands. And remember to social distance by the length of an alligator (thanks, Florida)!
Stay Well!
